Our
Curriculum
Our classrooms are inviting
places where children are encouraged to think, plan, and create as they
make sense of their world. Professionally qualified teachers develop programs
rich in language experiences, reading, and math readiness to encourage
a love of learning in each child. Our curriculum values curiosity and
supports these values through hands on learning.
Music plays an important and
salient role in early childhood. The importance of music during this time
lies in its emotional quality and its ability to foster relationships.
Music is an integral part of culture and helps children to understand
themselves and relate to others creating links between their experiences,
emotions, and the world. Our music program acknowledges young childrens'
ideas and actions. Music class is centered on what the child knows and
is interested in. It is an important goal of our music classes to create
a community of learners. Every child’s contribution is heard and
every child leaves the music class with a larger sense of self than he
or she brought into it.
Another integral part of the
curriculum is our dance program. Each class has a weekly experience with
a dance/movement specialist. Through these experiences, children develop
self-confidence and comfort in their bodies.
