Parent
Action Committee
The Parent Action Committee
("PAC") is a parent-driven committee created to foster a sense
of community within the school, enhance each child's school experience
and provide opportunities for parents to participate in the Columbus Pre-School
experience. PAC is proud of its many accomplishments from last school
year. PAC raised a record amount in 2005-2006 through its yearly gift
wrap sales, book fair and its first annual Raffle and Silent Auction.
We could not have done this without the hard-working parent volunteers
and the generous donations from parents and community businesses. We also
sponsored the City Parenting Series and the first annual Columbus Pre-School
Spring Carnival. In addition to providing support, fun and enrichment
activities to our own Columbus Pre-School community, PAC also gives back
to our larger New York City communities. Our children enjoy giving to
others during our food, toy and clothing drives, as well as our visits
to a local Senior Retirement Home.
This school year promises to
be even better and busier! In addition to continuing our successful events
from last year, we also plan on having a Pajama Party Bake Sale; more
great enrichment activities such as a visit from a nutritionist, firefighter/police
officer and a dental hygienist. The children have been invited by the
Atria Senior Retirement Home to join their chorus and perform with them.
Working together
we make this already fabulous school and community even better.
